God is not just a feeling.
He isn’t hiding behind the bushes like some creepy stalker.
He isn’t trying to fool you or disappoint you or hurt you.
I’ve felt all those things about Him and I’ve been way off.
God can’t be contained in a box.
He never grows tired of your prayers. He never shies away from a moment of fear or mountain of meltdowns. He is my God, my Daddy, my reason for living. He saved me and continues to save me and you every single day.
God is love ❤️…simply put.
It takes love to tell your child no to something they really want because you know it’s for their good.
It takes love to forgive the unforgivable.
It takes love to accept us time and time again, even when we struggle with accepting ourselves.
God seriously loves us.
God is all knowing.
He knows us.
He knows that I for one struggle SOOO much with not knowing what’s next. I’m always like, “What’s the plan, Lord? What’s next? Why are You not moving? What’s taking so long? Why didn’t this work out? Why am I not further along? Where these people getting all this money to travel and look good and live out dreams and I’m barely paying my bills? Why, Lord, what’s up???!”
But God don’t gotta answer. Things get revealed to me at just the right time because my God is the Author of time. My timeline, my questions, my demands of wanting to know what God is up to—-none of that matters. What matters is knowing that God knows all, He sees all, and He created all. If He in charge like that, I can rest. I can relax. I can just breathe.
I’m so tired. I am sure I’m not alone.
Let’s remember this—-
26-28 Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.
29-30 God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun.
–Romans 8:26-30 (msg-the message)
Rest in God. He got us.
