“Don’t worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have. And because you belong to Christ Jesus, God’s peace will stand guard over all your thoughts and feelings. His peace can do this far better than our human minds.” (Philippians 4:6-7 ERV)
There are some scriptures that should never get old to us and Philippians 4:6-7 is one of them.
I LOOVVEEEEEE this Scripture. And my bad if I keep writing about it, but clearly it hasn’t settled completely in my spirit yet cuz mannn.
I’m worried y’all. I’m worried about my son growing up (Lord, my baby ain’t a baby and his voice is not tiny..I can’t handle it🥹). My bills list be tryna cut into my “treat yoself” list and it’s frustrating. (But to be real, even if I NEVER treated myself, I still often feel suffocated by bills and why it seems like there’s never enough to cover them😰). I’m worried about how crazy the world is. I’m worried about being liked and accepted and loved. I’m worried about hearing God’s voice clearly cuz I don’t want to make moves without Him and I never want to feel like He’s far (and though I know He’ll never leave me, it often feels like He’s galaxies away).
I worry and worry and cry and stress.
AHHHHHHHH!
But God….
He wants me to rest, not stress.
He wants YOU to rest. Rest in His truth. Rest in who He is. Rest in His track record, His faithfulness, His right-on-time-ness.
I have a friend that despises birds. I think it’s so hilarious and just the thought of her running from them brings a smile to my face even now. To be honest, I’m not crazy about them either. They’re weird. They always seem to act like they own the world. They often walk at a pace like they ain’t got no worries, like they own the road and can perch wherever they see fit. They annoy me and fascinate me all at the same time. I think I’m more annoyed at the attitude they carry—“I’m here. I’m free. I can fly when I want. I find food when I need it. I’m good.”
Shouldn’t that be our attitude, though?
“Think about the wild birds. They do not plant seeds in the ground. They do not cut down plants to eat. They have no buildings to store food. But God, your Father in heaven, gives them food to eat. You are much more valuable than the birds.” (Matthew 6:26 EASY)
I don’t know about you, but I have yet to see a bird looking stressed out about food. I haven’t seen a bird walking around with an ax to chop down trees to build a shed to house delicious delicacies. They don’t have to. They’re freaking birds and God cares for them. We’re HIS KIDS. How much MORE will He care for us? It may feel hard. You may be going through it. But baby, one thing about hard times is they don’t last. You’ll laugh again. You’ll find that job. You’ll get your hope back. That diagnosis doesn’t have the final say. Your child will come home. That addiction can and will be broken. God WILL and does care for you.
So no, this life ain’t for the birds, it’s for us.
If the birds ain’t worried, why should we?
Let’s trust that God will take care of us like He promised.
My God…I love You so so much. You have captured my entire heart and I pray You never ever let go. You give hope to the hopeless. You restore faith. You meet needs that we can’t even voice and for that and so much more, I love You. Remind whoever is reading this that You see them. Remind them that if You can take care of a bird, You can for sure take care of them. May we take every need, every worry, every fear and lay them at the feet of Jesus. You are who You say You are. We love you.
Forever Your daughter,
Key♥️
Let it bless you and wake you up🎶🎵
